    3. I expected a book that gave manufacturing type examples of TOC applicationbut was sorely disappointed. It is a very thorough explaination of the 'logic' behind applying TOC and uses examples, but they are every day events, not real operational problems. If you want logic and step by step problem solving techniques, buy the book. If you want to see how real companies apply the TOC theories, don't but it.

    4. Eliyahu Goldratt has formulated some wonderful concepts for management and popularized them in his novels The Goal and the sequel, It's Not Luck. The marketing strategies in It's Not Luck are revolutionary, systematic and extraordinary means to innovate in a market. The procedures, however, are difficult to extrapolate from the novel in a step by step fashion. Dettmer makes them clear.

    5. So you've read Goldratt's books, The Goal, Critical Chain, etc.d it all sounds great but you need a more complete understanding of TOC. A business novel this is not, a hardcore explanation of TOC it is.     6. Ein echt gutes Buch.Wer zu den Romanen Goldratts eine Alternative sucht, der wird hier fündig.Dettmer hat ein richtiges Fachbuch geschrieben. Sehr gut strukturiert, viele plastische Beispiele. Besser kann man ein Managementkonzept und die dahinterstehenden Werkzeuge nicht rüber bringen.So gut, dass ich versucht bin, etwas ähnliches - und Berücksichtigung meiner eigenen Erfahrungen - in Deutsch auf die Beine zu stellen.

    7. While Goldratt's books are good, they do little to educate one on how to implement TOC. Dettmer's book shows you how. Don't bother looking for others.
